About the Creator

Vanessa Anthony is an award-winning filmmaker with over 20 years of national and international experience in independent film/television. Inspired by an internship at CNN in Atlanta, she built her career with Turner Network Television and Turner Classic Movies before writing and producing her own cable TV show. ​ In Tokyo, she worked as a voice talent for NHK English Radio and founded Movie Mad Entertainment, producing short films and a TV series highlighting artists in Japan. Her international credits include work with Star Alliance and NBC Universal Europe. ​ After relocating to Washington, D.C., in 2016, her short film Mr. Big Shot won Best Film and Best Sound and screened at multiple festivals. Her work has screened internationally, including in New York and Tokyo. ​ Vanessa is currently developing her original TV series, The Atonement, focused on domestic violence and mental health. Named Filmmaker of the Month for Domestic Violence Awareness Month (2023), she holds a B.F.A. in Digital Multimedia from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
